About Me: I'm an open-mided, tolerant, freaky-but-cool-about-it girl! I have two kids, Adrian and Mehriya, but let me tell you....this mama still likes to have fun! I like to know at least a little bit about a lot of things, and I'm working on knowing a lot about a few.....kind of like a jack of all trades, master of none at this point. I'm majoring in Biochemistry and Physics....hopefully I'll be able to put this to some use when I get out of school....I'll either go the route of High energy physics (and cosmology) and do theory work...trying to find out why and what the universe is....or maybe astronautical engineering. I don't know what I'd do with the Biochemistry....maybe add some molecular biology (something I've been debating, I think I'm going to stick with the more basic sciences) to the mix and do some genetic engineering so maybe one day I'd be a big help to humanity. You just never know. What I really want to do, though there really isn't any money in it, is be an astronomer. Astronomy/Cosmology is just facinating.

Music: A little bit of everything...I like to be well rounded. Tori Amos, Poe, Eric Clapton, Tracy Chapman, Gorillaz, Tool, Shakira, Allison Krauss, Plumb, Type R, Aphrodite, Linkin Park, Cirrus, some Eminem, Chemical Brothers (watch the video of 'get yourself high'!!!), DJ Kerry, Sarah Vaughn (PETER GUNN!!!), America, Missy Elliot, Latin Bangers (cerveza time!!), Cascada, Type O Negative, Gatsby's American Dream, Felix da Housecat, Evanesence, Jonathen Edward.....oh man...I'll stop there.
Movies: War of the Worlds, It's not really a movie (well, now it is), but I loved the play Rent!, Saw &; Saw II, Time Machine, Interview with the Vampire, Memoirs of a Geisha, Angelo my love, Tomie, and some other movie that was really weird....like Jacob's Ladder.....Oh yea! The Jacket! Secretary, Original Sin, Cube, and Cube Zero!, Most of Quentin Tarantino's movies, all of Miyazaki's, And of course all the Hellraisers!
TV: Inuyasha, Cosmic Oddessy, I Shouldn't be Alive, Full Metal alchemist, South Park, Nova.....I hate to admit it, but I like Top Model (sick, huh?)

But I really don't watch much TV
Books: Freakonomics, The Hitchiker "Trilogy", Hiding in the Mirror, Dark Visions (Old School!), The Vampire Diaries (also Old School), Finding Darwin's God, Black Rednecks and White Liberals, The Last Unicorn, The Wrinkle in Time set of 4, Delta Of Venus, Belinda, Road to Reality, Against Therapy, A Prostitue in the Family Tree, Startide Rising, Memnoch the Devil, Winter of Fire, Don Quixote, Hyperion, The Nuture Assumption, A Pale Blue Dot......too long a list, I could go on and on forever!
Likes: People who can take criticism with the same grace as a compliment, learning, jokes, having my hair washed by somebody besides me, cloudy days, sunny days, rainy days....pretty much everything else in life besides what's listed below.....
Dislikes: Taking things too seriously, oversensitive people, liars, spoiled kids, spoiled kids' parents, spongebob, high gas prices, pink azaleas, and people who make a lot of noise when they chew.....
Hobbies: Reading, dancing, playing with my kids, trying to draw, and in general looking for anything that might spice up my life
Vices: I love to have a beer and eat chicharones...
I'm sure I have more....but I tend not to dwell on them.

Virtues: Honest, considerate, dependable, loving, patient, and giving
Heroes: My mom, who mercifully let me live though my teenage years even though she really...really...really wanted to kill me.

    No Point in Tears

    Thursday, June 1, 2006, 06:48 AM [General]

To weep is a futile gesture,

                                                      (A waste of good salt...)

             Tears change nothing, unlike blood:

One drop will call the world to look

                                                To see your suffering,

                                                And test its empathy,

...Or at least its capacity thereof.

One drop can call on oblivion-

    And begin your gentle release...

                                         Bleeding brings quiet,

          while lost tears only breed,

                           Never ending,

                                    only feeding upon themselves.

There is no point in tears.

    Affect

    Wednesday, May 24, 2006, 11:46 PM [General]

As if nothing effects, I act-

       Yet here I sit, sick,

                                      Thinking,

           An uncomfortable warmth building,

    Burning my eyes

                                  As well as my heart.

    Begging for and disgusted by

A single thing, one and the same…

A need that destroys as it is satisfied

                            (…a destruction quite satisfying…)

Oh! how the love of the recognition affects….

    At any rate

    Sunday, May 21, 2006, 10:54 PM [General]

I know that people don't usually pay attention, but I love to talk. Even if it is just so I can fill the silence. I love to hear myself run off at the mouth.

    Who is the same way?

    Mad

    Saturday, May 20, 2006, 07:38 PM [General]

    If that which I believe

-as fragile as my psyche is-

    Is mad,

                   Then perhaps I am mad

    Never angry, of course,

        Just mildly deranged.

A bit of difference never failed to blend in

                                                       with the crowd…

    everyone has become so different

    normalcy is finally a myth-

                         fiercely sought

                                  but

                        never witnessed.

    Control

    Friday, May 19, 2006, 09:10 PM [General]

    Control, with its many faces,

            Is itself indeed feral

    Exerted sometimes without knowledge

                                 sly glances

                                 coy words

    INCOGNITO

                       Except to me.

Passive as one dares to be,

                       Orders are never unfamiliar…

    Gently met with appreciative submission

                               Quiet adoration

                                Loving compliance…

    Sweet to be told

Always then, you’ve done no wrong.
